The boy was at his home near Driggs, just west of the Idaho-Wyoming border, with his younger sisters last Wednesday when the bear showed up. He says he couldn't shoo the animal away, so he went and got a gun and shot it.
Cant wait to the morons of animal rights activists, @!$%#ing about what an 11 year should have done differently here.
Hope the bear makes a nice rug.
I am wondering why fish and game didn't do something with the bear if they knew there was a problem in the area. As far as the boy's involvement --- Good shot, kiddo.
That part of the state is really remote and I'm guessing that Idaho numbers extremely few game wardens.
Nothing like a little independent thinking on the part of the kid, though.
